So, here we are. The obligatory first post. I’m really bad at these, but I’ll try. Here goes.
I’m a student at a large midwestern university, studying psychology and soon to go to graduate school for art therapy. I like to write, draw, read, watch television, and be anti-social with my cat (well, sometimes I like to be social, but I’m definitely an introvert). I’m also really bad about writing about myself, if you can’t tell. Sorry. Hopefully you’ll get some idea of who I am from my posts.
This is the second blog I’ve tried to create. I’ve also gone through probably about twelve diary attempts, none of which were successful. I tend to get really excited about writing in blogs/diaries in the first week or so, and then suddenly…I just stop. Because I don’t have anything to write about, because I don’t have time, or because I’m just plain lazy. I’ve got all sorts of excuses. But I’m determined to make this one work. I dunno — maybe I feel like I have more to write about now, things that are more interesting and relevant to others. I’m also super stressed out because of school, volunteering, plans, the future, the present, the past — you name it. So maybe I can relieve some of that stress here. We’ll see, I guess.
I feel like that was an adequate first little blurb. Who knows what you’ll find here? Political rants, worries about my future, musings about daily life occurrences, or maybe just thoughts about random things. I don’t know if anyone will even read this. If you do, that’s great, and I hope that something I write helps you or makes you think. If no one reads it, then at least I’m getting some stress out by using this like a diary. We’ll just have to see what happens.
If I do snag some of you readers, feel free to comment and join in the discussion. I like talking to people, and will try to respond if I can! This is kind of an experiment for me, and there will be a hodgepodge of things on here. Hopefully we’ll find something to talk about! Thanks for reading and enjoy!
